heart

So we have a Summer Project to do based on colour and emotion. So I'm trying not to think about it and doodling in black ink instead.

Wabbit

Over the weekend I've been carving and printing this bunny rabbit - leaping joyously in his habitat. I'd never done woodblock printing before (I think it shows!) and found it most therapeutic and entirely engrossing.

Lonely me

I accept that I'll never be an amazing photographer - or a photographer for that matter. But it's still nice to be a part in the making of an image.

Allow

Start of this week has been mildly productive, hooray :)
First, have been helping my awesome friend Rae Duncan screenprint her live/dead birdies. This was much fun as normally I hate screenprinting (faff), but it's a whole lot better when you're working with someone who seems to know exactly what they're doing.
Result is much fun, and lovely prints at the end - which will be on sale at the Dundee Degree Show (Illustration dept.)

This is my own wee print for being such a wonderful person..

Secondly, went along to the Dundee Jamboree workshops and made myself a couple of badges.
I'm not an arty-crafty person in the slightest and find I lack the necessary patience and manual dexterity to excel at any activity that involves gluing, cutting, knitting, sewing, etc. etc.

But I can draw! (And ask someone-else to put said drawing in a badge-making machine)
And so now I have two badges that I'll have to affix to something..

Hopefully the rest of the week will bring forth just as much making-activity.. or at least some more doodles?

your go

This is the Sfumoarm. Shy, bad-tempered creature; freak of nature. (compiled together from various rubbings of seabirds at the North Berwick seabird centre)

maybe one day I will draw him into an actual image.

wooden cat

Done nothing creative for the past month now, (though part of the time has been spent gallivanting off to various counties in Engerland and eating lots of tasty food) and thoroughly ashamed of myself.

Oh dear.
